Senator Priest On Obamacare Ruling

Senator Jason Priest sponsored Senate Bill 106, to include Montana in the Florida lawsuit against Obamacare. Today, the judge presiding over that same lawsuit ruled that Obamacare is in fact unconstitutional.Senator Priest issued a statement about the continuing need for Montana to step up to the plate and do its part in this lawsuit.



No Deficit Spending Allowed

Republicans in the Legislature are working to deliver a balanced budget for the people of Montana that reduces the size and scope of government. Unfortunately, the budget proposed by the governor’s office relies on deficit spending.



Defending Small Business

Two upcoming bills are designed to defend Montana’s job creators from burdensome legislation. Representative Gordon Vance of Bozeman is sponsoring House Bill 100. Scheduled for executive action this Thursday, HB 100 would allow future legislatures to make an estimate of its impact on Montana’s businesses. Senator Ed Walker of Billings has a similar bill, Senate Bill 201, but it would require a business impact analysis whenever a state agency creates a new regulation that would impact small businesses.
